Aromatic C–H amination has attracted significant attention as a new method for the synthesis of arylamines. The dehydrogenative coupling of arene and N–H reagents is an ideal transformation where functionalization steps of arenes and amination reagents are not required. Under the irradiation with blue light, direct C–H/N–H coupling of naphthalene and sulfonimide takes place by using 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-p-benzoquinone (DDQ) as a photosensitizer.
